The Goon

Praise the Goon. The wine cask was indeed invented in the '60s by a South Australian winemaker by the name of Tom Angove. This cheap wine that comes in a box is referred to with the classy name of Goon Bag down here. All class.

There is more to the Goon. Here comes one of the greatest outdoor game of all: the Goon-of-Fortune, a popular drinking game among the more refined members of the Goon drinking society.

Goon-of-Fortune
Goon-of-Fortune can be played at any good party, or can also gives any not so good party a good reason to be. All that is needed is a goon bag and on of those stand alone revolving square clothesline, a Hills Hoist. Everyone takes their position under the clothesline in a circle and the bags are secured on a corner with many clothespins. The clothesline is spun around (and then everyone screams goon or sings the theme song of wheel of fortune, or something of a similarly festive nature). Then whoever the bag lands on gets to drink up the Goon (for like 5 sec or something) and then the bag line is spun again...and again, until its over. That's the basics, then you just add more rules to the game to make it more interesting...so many options there.

So here's a game we should bring back home. Who's got a backyard and one of those clotheslines?

Another convenient use of the Goon is that the bag can be inflated for use as a pillow after consumption.
