With relatives in town for a visit, we decided to take the requisite drive south from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road. Stopping about two hours drive from the Twelve Apostles, we stayed the night at Kookaburra Cottages, a unique beachfront accommodation not far from Apollo Bay. Several well-apointed Swiss Family Robinson styled bungalows are set within gorgeous, well maintained grounds populated by hens, roosters, cats and a talkative cockatoo named Cocky Dooly. The property offers truly great views and a relaxing atmosphere where you drift off to sleep with the sound of waves on the beach. One day we will toughen up and go swimming in the antarctic freezing water.
The weather was gorgeous and the landscape was pretty as expected.
Lots of water. Lots of sky.
